Today is Day 5 of the 30/30 Hoop Challenge and so far it’s going well. I am really appreciating having this extra inspiration for getting in the hoop. I haven’t done anything fancy, just turned on the music, picked up the hoop and lost myself in the tunes and the moves. To me, this is what hooping is all about–letting myself just be with the rhythm and the beat and feel into my body’s response to it all. And it responds with a gigantic smile and a great big YES! Yes, I love this! Yes, this is what I need! Yes, this feels so good! Yes, I’d like some more, please. Yes, yes, YES!
My body loves hooping. When I am in the hoop I don’t think about anything. I am focused on the moment and the music and the way the hoop feels revolving around my body or in my hand. It’s like a magic wand that erases everything that isn’t necessary and brings me into the center not only of the hoop but of myself. From that place I experience a feeling of timelessness and grace. All the concerns and craziness and hurry and worry is spun right out of my aura for a little while and replaced by either a quiet contentment, profound joy or something just this side of ecstasy.
