The Tri-Valley Hoop Group had another gorgeous day for our second hoop jam, yesterday in San Ramon. There were smiling faces all around! A few new hoopers joined us and arrived, understandably, a little concerned about whether they’d be able to hoop. One of the things I love best about teaching hooping and hoop dance is that pretty much anyone with the desire to hoop will be able to do it. The longest I’ve seen anyone take to get the hoop going was about twenty minutes.
I always tell new hoop students and friends who are giving it a whirl for the first time that I have a 100% success rate teaching people to do waist-hooping, so far. If all those other people can do this, I’m certain you can, too. (The hoops I use are professional-quality adult hoops. They are bigger and a bit heavier than the toy hoops and much easier for grown-ups to use.) And minutes later, much to the delight of one new hooper after another, they are hooping, too.
We’ll be doing more of these hoop jams in San Ramon. Please join our Tri-Valley Hoop Group on Facebook to stay in the hoop jam loop. Join us, if you can!
