Things are picking up in my hoop world these days. The weather is warm, even into the evenings, so I’m finding lots more opportunities to hoop; even after a long day at work.
There has been a flurry of new activity as women and girls discover the Goddess Hoop Dance website, Facebook Page, join the Meetup Group and register for the Saturday morning classes. The best story I’ve heard in a while of how someone found my classes was from a woman who came to class for the first time, yesterday. She said she did a Google search for embroidery hoops the other day and saw the link for my hoop classes. She told me she is always looking for new ways to sneak in exercise and thought, ‘that looks like fun!’ She joined the Meetup group and contacted me about registering for class. Yesterday was her first hoop class. By the time we did our closing circle she was all smiles and left with a shiny new gold and purple hoop.
I discovered hoop dance in a most unexpected way, too. Someone posted a hoop dance video in an online sacred geometry community that I joined in early 2009. Imagine my surprise when I saw Kara’s mesmerizing video. Hoop dance finds us when we are ready for it. How were you introduced to hoop dance?
If you are in the S.F. Bay Area, looking for a Saturday morning hoop dance class, I hope you’ll join us. We meet in Danville, on Saturday mornings from 8:45-9:45 AM. Please see the Classes page for more about the classes and how to register. Hoop on lovelies!
